This exhaust insulation lagging is manufactured from a glass fibre weave. It is very safe to handle during normal application procedures. It is designed to handle temperatures reached on the outer surface of the exhaust flex on diesel heaters, it is not recommended that the lagging is subjected to the direct blown heat of the heater exhaust outlet fume.

Essentially, the material is intended to insulate the surface of the exhaust pipe—not to be placed right at the point of hottest exhaust discharge. So should I just leave some space at the exhaust outlet; like 1 cm ? Thanks

Manuafacturers (Webasto and Eberspacher) recommend leaving 2cm of the exhaust exposed at the outlet end of the flexible stainless steel exhust. This would ensure clear exit for the heater exhaust fumes and ensure safety.
