Thermal insulation for 55-60mm ducting
Thermoduct with 3M Thinsulate
Available in 750mm lengths that slip over a variety of ducting diameters, Thermoduct is hydrophobic (won’t absorb water), hard wearing and with an R4 insulation rating is capable of reducing the outer duct temperature from +100°C to +30°C.
Warm air heating systems can loose up to 40% of the heaters output in the ducting system. This wasted heat promotes condensation and results in poor heater performance, especially on longer ducting runs. It should be noted that at full output most 4 kW heaters will heat the duct to a surface temperature of over 100°C.
The outside temperature of the ducting after insulation only reaches approx. 35°C, far safer and user friendly.
Properly specified insulation of long warm air ducting runs can increase heater efficiency by over 100%.
